A Delhi court dismissed a husband’s plea stating that it is
duty of the husband to maintain his wife and it has to be put on a higher
pedestal, and ruled that even if the wife is employed, he has to pay the
maintenance money to his wife for her standard of living which she used to
enjoy at her matrimonial home. The husband filed a plea against an order of paying
Rs. 1.4 lakh maintenance to his estranged wife.
