SUPREME COURT SAID HEARINGS ONLY ON TALAQ (DIVORCE), NOT EXAMINE POLYGAMY

The Supreme Court made it clear that it would only decide on the practice of the constitutional validity of triple talaq (divorce) and not deal with polygamy. Chief Justice JS Khehar said that if they conclude that triple talaq (divorce) is part of fundamental right to religion then they would not interfere in this matter.
