SUPREME COURT REFUSED TO ANNUL A HINDU GIRL'S MARRIAGE ON THE GROUND THAT IT WAS PERFORMED WITHOUT HER CONSENT

The Supreme Court refused to annul a 26-year-old Hindu girl’s marriage only on the ground that it was performed without her consent, but asked the Delhi police to grant her protection from her family as she feared honour killing The court also said that the marriage could not be annulled by it as the 26-year-old had a remedy under the law to approach the appropriate matrimonial court for divorce.
