PARSI WOMAN APPROACHED SUPREME COURT TO CHALLENGE OLD PARSI DIVORCE LAW

A Parsi woman, who had filed Parsi matrimonial suit before the Bombay High Court seeking dissolution of her 11-year-old marriage, has moved the Supreme Court questioning the validity of many provisions of Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act (PMDA), alleging that these made estranged couples of her community go through a torturous exercise to get divorce, because High Court has been not appointed any delegates to deal these cases.
